Centered on the themes of courage, perseverance, mystery, and the growing impact of climate change on the Himalayas, Road to Everest chronicles the remarkable story of a man in his fifties who challenges age, time, and his own limitations to pursue his lifelong dream of climbing Mount Everest.

According to the production team, the Nepal premiere of Road to Everest will take place on 22 August 2026 in Kathmandu, followed by its international premiere on 13 September 2026 in Hong Kong. The documentary will subsequently be screened across Nepal and at various international film festivals and cinemas.

The documentary is the culmination of over two years of research, filming, and production. The story has been written by journalist Santosh Acharya and Nirmal Shrestha, while the narration is delivered by acclaimed broadcaster Bhusan Dahal. The film is available in both Nepali and English.
