Red Devils Reach New Heights: Hong Kong-Based Nepali Fan Hoists Manchester United Flag on Mount Everest



Hong Kong-based Nepali supporter Raj Gurung has taken his love for Manchester United to the world’s highest peak. Earlier this year, he successfully summited Mount Everest, leading a campaign in which fellow Manchester United fans in Hong Kong signed the club’s flag before it was carried to the summit.

Manchester United recognized his achievement on their official Instagram page with the caption: “Raj Gurung raises United flag at the summit of Mount Everest.” The post has garnered over 366,000 likes, with thousands of fans congratulating him in the comments.

The expedition, completed with the support of experienced Sherpa guides Phurba Tenzing Sherpa and Nima Gyaltsen, spanned nine days and included two attempts to reach the summit.

The flag, raised at 8,848 meters above sea level, symbolizes the unity and passion of Manchester United fans worldwide. With over 64.7 million Instagram followers, the club hailed this as a moment of global pride for Reds supporters.
